Referral Code

I am about to register a new phone with 7-11 and would like a referral code.

Please send it to:

danlafer(at)shaw(dot)ca
(at) = @
(dot) = .

Thank you

Dan

PS: To the person who gave me a useless referral code yesterday, NOT COOL at all. I wasted an hour waiting to get through to customer service only to find out the code was previously used.

Thank you "bc", the number you provided went right through without difficulty (as did my call to customer service, which was a relief after this morning's attempts).

Best wishes,

Dan

I just wanted to update something. The person who originally sent me the referral code which Speak Out stated was already used, emailed me recently and stated that they did not provide their referral code to anyone but me, and I think she/he is being truthful. I therefore wish to apologize to them.

I think sometimes Speak Out is a bit "confused" with these codes and or someone who knows the basic numbering system is perhaps guessing at a code to get their $10 air time on a new phone order.

After my experience with customer service, (one person did not even know about teh referral code program and their supervisor wasnl;t going to be available until two days later) I could see how errors can be made. When I asked for a referral code of my own, they told me I already had a valid one issued, but I was never given it, so they do seem a bit messed up with this program.

Anyway, I just wanted to try to correct what is likely a wrong impression I left about the person who provided me with the referral code, as I suspect the problem wasn't anything he/she did, but with Speakout.

Disgruntled *611 Male worker giving 7-11 customers a hard time?
Last evening, Tue July 6 at about 10pm (Calgary Time), (TO *611>>check your *611 recordings for details)
a male *611 person told me that I cannot ask for any more code
because he said that I had already been given 12 codes for the year!!
And then strangely enough, $0.99 was deducted from my account balance!!
What is going on???
*611 are no charge calls.

In actual fact, I had been given only 10 codes and this morning,
I was given my 11th code without any hassle by
another *611 person ( one more code to go for the year).

I started on April 14, 2009 and got my first code. .
IF I had been given 3 codes a month,
I should have a balance of 2 more codes for July after
getting my first one on Wed July 1st.

Is the disgruntled worker trying to drive 7-11 customers away OR
he just wants a free ride with free paycheques OR BOTH?

Looks like one or two bad *611 SpeakOut operators are creating problems for 7-Eleven customers.

yep i got him couple weeks ago. i was asking for my 3rd code for june and he said i'd used 3 already. i said no only used 2 so far and he proceeded to argue with me, got all snooty that his computer shows i'm wrong and accused me of trying to cheat the system.

long story, i hung up on the jerk and called back 5 mins later, got a nice lady and she gave me my 3rd code.

Yep, he was very rude, too.
I forgot to mention that he hung up abruptly on me after telling me that I cannot have any more codes even though I still had 2 more for the year.

We also had some "confusion" with a male cutomer service person, he claimed we already had a code issued (our first) when we had not been given one yet.

I wrote custmer service via email from the Speakout website and got a reply. I suggest everyone else with difficulties do the same thing, so they find out about the problem.

The .99 fee someone mentioned is probably the 911 fee which is monthly (there may be tax on it depending upon where you live).

Really? I thought you pay tax already when you buy the recharge voucher. So they tax you twice. How nice.

My error, the tax is pre-included, as stated, as part of the initial payment, so there is no double taxing. The 911 fee comes off as $.99 per month from the airtime amount, taxes are taken out "invisibly" from the real total payment when one buys the airtime.

Dan, did you ever successfully get a code that worked. I've had a similar problem with 8 codes given to me that don't work. How many did you try?

Yes, the second code given to me did work. I have been in touch with customer service about the problem, and suggest others do the same (I used their email "contact us" on Speakout's website)... you can try: customercare@ztarmobile.com

They have a lot of new employees and there are some training issues, it woudl appear.
