In 1/12 days after just signing up for 100 MB of data. Speakout stated that I had used over 500 MB. Not according to my phone records. I have an automatic shutoff activated. After talking to customer service they stated I was notified by text at 80% and 100% data usage. Not according to my phone. Interestingly I have record of top ups and expiry date reminders. CRTC does NOT cover overages for prepaid accounts. Speakout knows this and happily gave me the CRTC complaints number. I hope this note saves one other from being ripped off by the Speak Out's data scam. I am out of pocket $134.93 extra charges before my money was gone. Good thing I did not have auto top-up.
