I just purchased a Nokia 1600 with $25 of airtime, came to $83 and change for everything. What a great way to use a mobile phone. We had been on Telus and accumulated over $180 because we just weren't using it. I figure that the $25 will last me almost the entire year specially since I carry a cell phone for work as well.
Got my wife a blackberry 8100 for her birthday and just put the SIM in and away she went. Worked flawlessly. I know it seems kind of like overkill specially with no data availability but she's never used data and never plans on doing it. We might head out to the US this summer and just noticed that you can get a T Mobile SIM from Ebay for under $15 and get tons of minutes, hey, from what I can tell, this is the perfect plan for me.

I just purchased my Speakout phone and can't believe how easy it is to use. I got a free phone when I purchased a $100.00 phone card and the phone came with $30.00 already loaded. I put the sim card in my motorola phone and it worked flawlessly. I proscratinated for quite a while about purchasing the phone because I am technically dysfunctional but am quite happy with what I got and what I don't have to pay...monthly charges.
