I loved the Nokia 1208, It was a phone I regret selling. I own a Nokia 1100 now, it's perceived drawbacks actually being pluses. Not having a color screen means you can actually see the display, even in bright sunlight! Being simple means awesome battery life! It has awesome range and sound quality. I am not one bit impressed with the current line of low end Nokia phones. If they are under $100, something is wrong with them. usually awful audio or user interface, or both.
I am partial to Motorola Razr phones also. These are phones you can use for hours without strain.

so sorry last post was misleading, as the phone I have is a Nokia 2760 new last xmas, used 5 times max, with the bad sound breaks up, unreliable quality, sometimes even from far away caller will say it is fine, then someone just round the corner cannot hear a word i say, i can only conclude that maybe ALL Nokias have really bad sound ? if only I could get the back off I could see if the SIM card works in my old wonderful Rogers Samsung Nokia unlocked in UK last summer. any help wd be most appreciated.

There is no such thing as a Rogers Samsung Nokia. You might have to be a little more specific on the model. I really find it hard to believe Samsung makes a phone that is actually any good, but it could happen.
And you are right, the current line up of phones Speakout sells are all pretty awful. Thankfully, there are a lot of nice unlocked phones out there.

sorry Bridonca, if i was unclear, my old Rogers SAMSUNG no identifying number on it - fabulous reception, LOUD and clear. never any problems over 3 years. NEW crappy nokia SO 2760. I either need to buy another SO phone (oh no not another Nokia) or get the SIMS card for $100 into my old Samsung Rogers. can't take the back off the Nokia 2760, it seems hermetically sealed... had the Samsun unlocked while in UK last summer so that is not a problem, except it may not be the right kind of phone to interface with a SO card.

Go to the 1 minute mark. I suspect you are going to have to be a lot more firm in opening the cover. I would put both thumbs on each side of the cover, and then push.
Any Rogers phone will work with speakout sims, locked or unlocked. So if you can get the cover off that 2730, you can swap out the sim.

I am planning to buy a cell phone and use the SO system. But after reading this review (I was planning to get the Nokia 2720 flip phone) but now I have some doubts.
There are only three cell phones listed on the SO web site. Does 7/11 sell any other cell phones that are better, that can be used with the SO system?
Can you use any Nokia phone?
If so, where could I get a decent, flip-style phone with good sound quality for my very minimal cell phone needs?
Thank you

thanky you
my phone is not all black it has a silver surround at edges, and it does not have the hole on the left side as shown, it also has an eye that looks like a camera device in the top of the flip top. it is shaped in such a way it woul never just flip off like he does on youtube, sort of molded into the bottom in a curved shape. it did not come with a SIM card and I did not have to insert it as shown in video. what to do ???

There is not much else more I can do for you, especially since I do not own the phone. I do not think you are being firm enough when it comes to taking the lid off. the diagram is here in this PDF on page 7. http://www.nokiausa.com/files/.....es-LAM.pdf
Next option is to use a crowbar. There is indeed a sim in that phone.

addendum to previous post, I now have SIM card inserted into Rogers phone and it works a treat! Thank you so much for your help. I even managed by a miracle to find the car charger that I have never used (even in the middle of moving and packing homes) and went out to the car (which I did not own when I got the Rogers phone 4 years ago) plugged in car charger, ( the old charger must be packed in a box somwehre) and hey presto Rogers Samsung is working perfectly. Can't thank you enough Bridonca!! Anyone who wants my Nokia 2760 - sans card, you are welcome to it!
Bridonca, you have made my day! This has been troubling me since 3 year contract with Rogers expired spring last year.
