Does anyone know what the calling area for a 613 (ottawa) area code speakout phone is? Gatineau, (just on the other side of the river) is 819, so I am hoping that it would include all of 819 also. Basically I would like both Kingston in the 613, and Mont-Tremblant in the 819 to be local calls. Anyone know how that works in the Ottawa area?

Generally, if it is a local call from a landline where you are standing, then it's a local call with a cellphone in your hand.
So, if you're in downtown Ottawa using a landline, you can call Gatineau without being charged long distance, but will probably encounter long distance charges if you call Kingston or Mt. Tremblant. So, if you use a cellphone in downtown Ottawa, regardless of the carrier, the same rules should apply.
In some cases the local calling area of cellphones ends up being larger than the local calling area of landlines, but my guess is that Kingston to Mt. Tremblant is a little on the large size.

When in doubt, and especially when you have a specific issue regarding area codes, I would suggest sending an email to Speak Out customer service. Their email address is:
I emailed them awhile ago about the same thing. My phone had area code 289 attached to it, and they replied with all the area codes I can call from/to, and it would still be considered a local call.
