I Have a speak out nokia 1680 as well as a petro canada nokia phone , both with sim cards and both working..

here is my question?????

can I buy a QWERTY keyboard type cell phone on speak out network. I know that it would have to be able to accept the SIM card .
what I was wondering is can the speakout network acept the signal of the qwerty functionality...?

I do lots of text mesages so I really am just trying to find a way for me to be able to type text messages much easier than with the traditional numeric cellphone. I make so many mistakes and it takes much to long for me to write simple messages.. So I was thinking of just buying a cell that has one of those fangled slide out keyboards.

there is a few brands that are avaiable that have the flip out mini keyboard but what brand would work as well as what plan would they have to be on. I seen a nice phone with the qwerty from PRESIDENTS CHOICE and it was on there pay as you go plan but I really want to stick with speak out network as its better than any other prepaid..

so will the pres.choice. phones work with a speak out SIM CARD?

IF NOT is there any qwerty phoens that will work on the speakout networks..

help

I want to thank anyone in advance for there postings, that is if there beneficial:cool: .lol

you can email me or post here..

as long as the phone is GSM (preferably quad band) and UNLOCKED it should be fine.

if the phone is locked to Rogers it should be OK as well

If you're just sending text messages (and not using browser functions) then QWERTY should not be any different than other phones from a network perspective. However, note that a President's Choice phone will definitely NOT work with Speak Out Wireless because it is made to run on a different type of network (CDMA) and does not take SIM cards.
