Hi new here. Used to have rogers pay as u go and was not allowed access to the rogers extended network at the cottage west of Ottawa, only rogers sf-wink_gifpost pay customers could talk/data. Will the same restriction apply to my new speakout acct? Thanks in advance. (is there a search function for this forum? sf-wink_gif )

SpeakOut works across Canada, wherever there is Rogers coverage, then there will be Speakout coverage. This is a good site to show where the Rogers (and other providers) cell towers are across Canada.

As for your second question, yes, there is a search function. Just look at the top of the page.

ah the google search is misleading because the first 10 results are ads/non forum specific, then forum results come on as you scroll down...

re the rogers extended network question, there is a tower across the lake and everyone w a rogers post paid service connects easily via rogers extended network. I had a rogers pay as you go and could not connect and rogers policy is

"Who is eligible for Extended Coverage?

Almost all of our plans qualify for Extended Coverage. You just need to be a postpaid wireless customer with a compatible device. It’s meant for customers who live within the Rogers network and happen to travel occasionally into Extended Coverage areas outside the Rogers network.

Wireless Home Phone, Wireless Business Phone, Rocket Hub, prepaid and zone-based or calling circle plans (e.g., My5/10 and MY1/2/5 enterprise business plans) are not eligible for Extended Coverage."

So my question is can Speakout access the rogers extended network or is it barred

Read the first sentence in my reply. "Extended Coverage" is just another name for roaming with Rogers. There is no roaming within Canada with Speakout. SpeakOut customers can access the entire Rogers coverage, except for LTE.

I did not see a clear answer from iamdrumming post either, although I believe you still got your answer. Speakout currently does not offer extended coverage on competitors' networks when a Rogers network is not available in the area.
