Can't SMS some numbers | Technical service details | Consumer forum

Sometimes I see contests (for example) where they say to send a SMS to a specific number. But that number is never a standard (xxx) xxx-xxxx.

For example, on PayPal, you can send the text "home" to 729725 to confirm the phone number for your account.

But it always fails. Anyway to get it through?
