Do you get charged airtime for the initial setup of your voicemail if you do it from your cellphone (i.e., pressing and holding the "1" key for the first time)?

To answer my own question, yes, you do get charged. Sort of makes sense.

Hmmm.... Virgin lets you set up your voice mail from your cell phone (in fact, you have to do it from your cell phone) and it's free.

You don't need to set up your voice mail from your cell phone. You can use a land line, call your number (leave your cell off) and when the message starts, hit #.
No charges for setting up your box if you do that.
