My friend and I were having a discussion about SO's expiry dates and times and I was hoping someone out there could clarify. Let's say you have SO airtime/SIM that is set to expire on Dec 25th. Does that mean the air time expires at 12:01AM or 11:59PM on Dec 25? And is that local time or EST or some other arbitrary time zone? Does anyone know for sure?
In the end, I usually play it safe and add airtime the day before but I just wanted to see if anyone knew definitively the exact time.
Thanks.

By law, you have a minimum seven-day grace period in order to “top up” your prepaid card account and retain your balance.

I would top up before December 31st if I wanted to keep my balance. I think you are playing with fire if you stretch the grace period to the max.
Before this regulation, with another cell phone carrier, I topped up on the 26th of December, and the next year, on December 26th, I lost my balance, though a chat with a CSR restored my balance. So this grace period regulation is a good thing.

If your account says it expires on Dec 25, it will expire the first moment of Dec 25. I speak (unfortunately) from experience.
You may be able to call and talk them into reinstating it, but you may not. By all means, renew by Dec 24 and don't try to squeeze the last day out of it -- just not worth it!
