Hi guys and gals.
Just wanted to share with you that if you set up GCal (the google calendar) properly to send SMS to ur phone using Rogers, then your reminders will be sent to you instantaneously FOR FREE.
I set this up last year and was charged for the GCal SMSes, so I stopped using it because my calendars were syncable via bluetooth and reminders popped on the phone regardless. But this is an extra feature just in case ur phone calendar is not up to date.
I've tested this twice already and my account did not decrease!!! It's very weird, I know. It seems like this service is completely bypassing SpeakOut charges, probably due to them being on the same towers.
I might just set all the reminders to be SMSed :))
Mess around it with. Its a useful feature.

I'm trying to figure out what the extension is that GCal uses to send the SMSes with Rogers but can't find it yet. there is a nice tutorial that shows you how to send email reminders to SMS, but you have to type in your phone number and the proper provider extension (e.g., xxxxxxxxxx@pcs.rogers.com <-this thing doesn't work by the way).
Anyone figure this out yet? would be nice to have email forwarded to your phone as sms message.
