My wife an I both have SO phones. To experiment we checked the balance on her phone; she sent a small text message; we checked the balance again -- 45 cents?
The US Congress was told that the cost to a network to handle a text message is less than 1/10 cent (I know, they have to recover capital costs) -- seems like 45 cents is obscene...many other services allow free texting to their other customers.
