Hey,

I have been using speakout for some time (years). I don't use the 7-eleven phones I use my unlocked Nokia 6106 originally from Rogers.

The problem is that starting about a year ago or so if I receive a local call (or any call) the number on the caller ID is preceded by a + and a 1. example: +1andthenumber.

If I pick up, I get charged $5 immediately! Every minute is like $10 or $15 DOLLARS to talk.

I used to have issues making calls in the same way but now I make sure I don't have + symbol in front of anyone's number in my contact list. That fixed me calling people.

The problem is that I can't receive calls because I can't stop incoming phone calls from having a + symbol in front of them and this means that I get charged like $25 to $35 per phone call.

Does anyone know how to fix this "+" symbol issue?

The majority of my incoming calls are preceded with +1 and all have been charged appropriately @ .25/min. All incoming calls no matter where they are from should be .25/min - I'd check with customer service.

Sorry, but that's hard to believe. All incoming minutes are charged at the same rate. Call Speakout and ask them to step through your recent usage if you'd like to make sure.
