If the Nokia 2760 comes unlocked, my problem is solved, because I can use a T-Mobile SIM when in the US. Please confirm. Big Ang said elsewhere that most Petro Can phones are unlocked. If this is so, maybe I'll simply buy Nokia 2760s and forget trying to unlock my old phones. Our mission is to travel between Canada and the US with one phone each, 2 SIMS each.
What about the Nokia 3555?
What if I buy the 2760 or 3555 in the US from T-Mobile? It's much cheaper but might it be locked by T-Mobile?
One other question: when I tried activating my T-Mobile SIM, they wanted the IMEI handset number. Would this mean the SIM is restricted to use in that one phone?

Thanks, Dennis!
Do you happen to know if the Nokia 3555 is unlocked?
I guess you have the same situation as us with wanting to use one phone in both countries. Are you satisfied with the 2760?
Are you happy with T-Mobile?
Have you had occasion to use them along the way from, say, Florida to Ontario?

I cannot guarantee that the 2760's are unlocked but I have read elsewhere that they are. Ours were bought a few months ago and are. Any others I have no idea.
I have only used t-mobile in Washington state so far and I was satisfied in any area with any reasonable population. I went through an area where it probably was 50 sq miles to the person and had no service there.
It sure was handy this last trip as my wife was hospitalized and in ICU for a while on our last trip and we both could keep in touch and I kept the family up to date in Canada for minimal charges.(IMHO)
