I am new to the cell phone thing though I'm about 50. I just bought a 2760 today and one of the questions I had was if I could put a US sim card in it when I went to the states. The CS rep told me the 2760 is locked and that cannot be done.

1. Is she telling me the truth?

2. What would my best option be if it is true? Buy another gsm phone that I is not locked maybe?

3. Where would I find a US sim?

Sorry for the newbie questions...but that's what I am.

2. Yes, or get a prepaid phone kit (like Tracfone) while in the USA.
3. Some are sold on Ebay, that would be your best bet. Since you would have to buy a phone anyways, I think buying a prepaid phone kit for use in the USA would be the better value.
