Hi everyone,
I just purchases a $100 phone card (with a free Nokia 1661 phone) this morning. I understand that all phone cards must be activated within 90 days of purchase. However, my question is: How soon must I activate my phone? My current cell phone contract does not expire for another 2 months, so I would prefer to wait until then to make the switch to SO. (I only purchased the phone card today to make use of the free phone deal.)
Thanks!

Thanks for the info, everyone. I actually emailed SO and they told me the same as andreww. The phone does not have an activation time limit, but the additional airtime must be activated within 90 days of purchase.
I decided to activate my new phone anyway (which comes with $5.00 of airtime, equal to 20min). I've read elsewhere that this included airtime expires after 30 days; however, upon checking my balance by calling 611, the message indicated this airtime will not expire for another 365 days. So now I'm equally confused as before.
Does my included airtime really not expire after 30 days like everyone has stated????

Not sure how long the included airtime is good for, but it wouldn't surprise me if it is a year. Remember, there is a monthly $1.25 911 charge, so even if you never make a call, $5.00 won't last more than 4 months. Also, your balance is carried forward with each top-up, so as long as you never let a top-up
date lapse, your funds will last indefinately.
