We purchased a Speakout phone about 2 months ago (Nokia 1208) and so far, we are very happy with it. However, we do have a problem accessing our voice mail from the cellphone (we have no problem accessing voice mail from a land line). When we dial our cell number, or hold 1, it recognizes our number but you don't hear a dialing tone (like you normally hear when you phone someone). Then, the phone will beep 3 times, stop and nothing happens (there is no voice prompt). Just wondering if you guys know what is wrong or do I need to get a hold of customer service?
My dad is also going to get a second phone from Speakout, since I will be heading off to university this fall. I want a phone that is a little bit more upscale and the Nokia 5130 interests me. However, it is apparently locked. If I understand this correctly, a locked phone will only recognize a SIM card from a particular carrier, in this case Speakout. My question is, if I buy the 5130, use it and decide I want another phone in the future, can I pull out the SIM card from the 5130 and put it into another unlocked GSM phone or will that phone not recognize the SIM from the 5130? (if that's the case, I am better off going with another 1208 since it is unlocked and transferring the SIM from that phone to any unlocked GSM phone I want).
Thanks a lot!

In regards, to your first question, try FAQ 15a on the home page of this site. If that doesn't work, contact customer service. Although this site helps to provide advice, we are by no means a replacement for official SpeakOut customer service, since we are all just customers like you.
Secondly, you can use a SpeakOut sim in any unlocked GSM phone (that uses the North American 850/1900 bands). I have 3 or 4 unlocked non-SpeakOut phones right now, and the SpeakOut sim works in them all.
Also, the SpeakOut sim will work in a phone that's locked to Rogers. However, if you have a phone that's locked to Fido, a SpeakOut sim will not work in it.
