I have been on SO for a couple of months now and I am loving it. I run an iPhone 3G and it is almost fully functional as a smartphone on this network with the unlimited web browsing plan. Just recently I bought my wife a second hand iPhone as well. This time I got a SIM card directly from SO and put it into her Rogers phone. What is interesting is that my iPhone displays "Rogers" in the top left corner and my wife's phone displays "Speakout." Not that it really matters, but what the heck? It would be cool if mine displayed "Speakout" too. Does it have something to do with the SIM card?

I have used this 4g for almost a month now. My only issue is the fact that it doesnt display the internet pages correctly. If i search something online i cant see the pictures just the text is this normal?
I was told that certain sites that contain adobe flash i wont be able to see them on the iphone.
I will give you an example this site http://justsmile.ca shows me just text and i know for sure that it doesnt have flash installed. I can perfectly open the pictures from my computer but just not from my phone.
I have never used an iphone before and i am not familiar. Is this thing normal or there is something wrong with the phone ??

A little bit from column A and a little bit from column B. Except for their computers, Apple devices do not do flash. The Speakout Data network does not handle complicated pages all that well either. That Justsmile website looks simple, but it has some nasty coding underneath that is not Speakout friendly. I blame the webmaster, but that is not much help to you.

Interesting!!!... I recently (2 weeks) moved from a Nokia 2760, to a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate.
Today, the connection to the phone and data service stopped.(no service).. i've been loading a lot of apps, and was wondering if one of them had caused a problem..
The phone usually says "Speakout"
So after turning off the phone, and turning it on again to no avail (still no service), I moved the sim back to my nokia.
It showed speakout and was connected no problem.
I moved it back to the Galaxy S, and this time as it powered up it said ROGERS (not the splash screen, but the Service notice)..
then it said No Service, and now that the phone is fully powered up, it once again says Speakout!
Back to normal!!
...not sure why Iost service in the first place!

I think it depends on the mood of the SIM programmer. Mine says HOME. I notice it sometimes changes depending on the model phone you use. I have no clue on the reasoning of this though.
bridonca,
Same here with one of my earlier SpeakOut SIM ;-p It does not bother me all these years. As long as it works and charge correctly, I do not mind even if it shows something else.
