Spam messages - Solution

Hi

Lately, i am getting a lot of SPAM messages from the same place.

Then number shows up as "+9900167″ or "+9900112″ and so on. On opening, all messages start with "" and go on something like "paulina la:fw: LA IMPORTANCIA YVENTAJAS DE COMER FRUTAS CON EL ESTOMAGO VACIO "

I can reply to that number (i have tried) since it isn't really a full phone number.

I called the speak out cust. service and the lady told me that they CANNOT block incoming messages.

"Can you block messages from just this number?"
"No, we cannot"
"Other providers can. Can't you?"
"Sorry, no"
"Are you sure?"
"Positive"

Thats it. I get these messages once every two days.

The only way left is to CHANGE MY NUMBER?? OR LEAVE SPEAK OUT??

Thanks.

I have received spam as well. Unfortunately there is no way to block it. Hopefully it will subside. If not, you can always change your number, but it might cost you money.

At least you won't be paying for incoming spam any more. Just got a Text from Speakout...

"Text rate change 10/1: Incoming TXT will be FREE. Outgoing TXT will be $.10 ea. Sending as much as receiving will mean no noticeable change in charges."

i've been getting spam for a while now, but my spam numbers are 9900146, 990124-990126.
and mine are from "Bill and L".

Is this a problem with speak out phones? because i never signed up for anything with my phone number. I dont' see why i'm getting this spam.

How does changing the phone number help?

Spam calls are generally computer generated and rise by one number at a time. Changing phone numbers will get you away from these calls for a time but eventually if they are persistent enough they will find you. Canadian law allows you to add your number to a no call list. All this stops are calls from within Canada. The bad guys just move to the states or offshore. Mine come from Minnesota. Go figure.
