I do not like my current number.

I want to buy a new SIM card and try a new number.

This will be done on the same phone.

Question is: Can I go back to the old number? (Should the new number be worse.)

I do not want the service to think I am changing numbers permanently so it deletes my old number (making my old SIM card useless).

Anyone tried switching back and forth between two SIM cards on a phone? (Phone is 1 slot; not the new dual slots.)

I think the better option is to buy a Virgin, President's Choice Mobile or Fido SIM card because they give you a choice of numbers. Telus likely does that also. When you get the number you like, you can then port that number to Speakout. For free.

I've switched cards to different phones and back. Should be no problem if you have 2 cards and 2 accounts.

I have switched my sim card to another phone and back, no problem. Also have left my phone unused for up to a month. You should have no problem, other than having to maintain two accounts - minimum $25 a year on each.

I dropped a Telus pay as you go account at Christmas and they are still emailing to beg me to pay it back into service again. $10 a month for them.
