In speaking with Customer Service, they confirmed that the 5 cent per text message applies to incoming messages as well as outgoing.

I think this is a change given that previous posts indicated that incoming text messages were free.

I think that's always been their "policy" but perhaps it hasn't been completely implemented across all accounts yet. I thought I was going to get charged 5 cents per incoming message since way back in December but I've been getting free incoming messages the entire time. Am I the only one?

In my case, it would appear that they have caught up to me. I have been charged for incoming text messages since I ported my cell phone number from Virgin Mobile.

On the positive side, they didn't charge me for that.
