I just ordered it and it works on my n95.
I can do basic browsing and http apps seem to work.
I cannot get ebuddy or fring to work though. Anyone know of a client that might load msn? I used ebuddy's html client and it was OK... not ideal.
consequently, my phone is out of batteries now (only had 2 bars since I didn't charge last night).
edit:
the speed was super slow. I'd say 1-5kb/s
It is GPRS. what would you expect for $7/month
try not to go on any picture intensive website.
It usually took me 5 sec to load a mobile site, and 30~40 sec to a regular site.

I am having the same problem as pathfinder 35, I am also from Regina. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.
Well, I am up an running. Here is what the problem was, the first two calls I had made the customer service reps said they had turned on the data and to power off the phone and I would be good to go. They obviously didn't know what they were doing, my third call to speakout I found someone who really knew how to turn on the data. The CSR for the third call apologized for the inconvinience and told me that my first two requests were only partially activated. So be cautious when calling speakout as they seem to have alot of people that will tell you that your are hooked up with data but really don't know how to do it.

How did you get them to reset the data. I asked them to do that and they basically told me it was already activated. I was then directed to the Nokia website to register my phone as that was my original phone that the sim came in. I will have to call back because there is no place to actually register your phone for settings that I could find. The service rep went on to say that they could not assist me if the sim was in an iphone. ( I had mentioned that I had tried it in an iphone). Oddly enough, the settings listed here work in an iphone 2g but not an iphone 3g. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just signed up. I'm using a Nokia E71. Took at least an hour (not 15 mins that the rep told me) before it worked. Reset the phone and then go to the setting wizard in the menu. It will load the Rogers settings.
I normally use Gtalk for IM through wifi on the third party Nimbuzz software. The software will not connect via EDGE but it will give you the option of the web-based version that reloads every 30seconds or so. Not bad.
Twitter via Twim software works and GoogleMaps. So does all browsing with the normal Symbian browser. The IMAP/SMTP mail used by the Nokia mail functions do not work. The Symbian version of Gmail does work.
So far so good. It is very limited and slow, but may be worth it. I'll see how much I use it.
Cheers.

Call and just say you want your data hooked up, make them think you have never called and are looking for an initial hook up. I wouldn't mention that you have moved your sim from your Nokia to an iphone. Keep phoning until you get an operator that knows what they are doing, they are there somewhere.

I have managed to get mail for exchange (Symbian - nokia) to sync my gmail and google calender accounts. Other than that it seems only web mail will work.
Last night I had no data connection for a few hours. Seems it is all sorted out now.
15mb+ data transferred in the first day and no extra charges so far!

This service is awesome. It took a while to setup - i'm using an old MPX220, but once I got it going I was impressed... mainly because..... lets just say it is not impossible to tether this internet to your laptop....
Quite amazing for prepaid with 365 day expiry, it is a viable internet option for travelers that come to Canada a few times a year.
I would like to see it at $8 or less though on a permanent basis so that $25 covers 3 months

Just signed up this morning, and was browsing within a few seconds of hanging up the phone. I have a blackberry pearl 8110. I'm using the goam.com APN settings listed above, although I don't know where to enter in the proxy information. I can access any website from the Rogers WAP browser, but I can't get the Google Mobile App, the Facebook App, or Opera Mini 4.2 to work. The only app that is working for me so far is the Evernote App. Is there a way to get any of these apps to work? Anyone else having better success with their Blackberry?

I have a Blackberry 8100. My handset downloaded a simple set of service book entries that automatically configured Roger's wap browsing through goam.com. The proxy is set automatically.
The goam.com gateway provides restricted web browsing capability, and the vast majority of apps won't work. I have been able to configure funambol for email, The Weather Network app for weather and that's about it.
SpeakOut needs to correct their rates page. It currently states, "Unlimited data can be added to any SpeakOut account for only $10/month." This is absolute rubbish.

How did you get the weather eye app to work? It says "could not detect your network setting" when I tried to load it. I took a look at funambol, but it's only a 90 day trial, so not much use to me.

I can't seem to get it to work using either the automatic nor manual detection. Have you tried any of the google mobile apps? Do you have anything filled in for your TCP settings?
I have goam.com wapuser1/wap entered in my TCP settings. I also used the info on this page to add a "browser" entry to my service book, but I'm not convinced my phone even uses it: http://bb.anworm.com/Home/english
I tried the Google maps and gmail apps without success.

I finally got the weather eye app to work. Also, I checked out the page you listed and followed the instructions, but i didn't have a backup file to load the service book from.
I thought I had Opera 5 beta working...it seemed to connect, but no text would show up on the webpages. I also tried the Score Mobile app and the FlyCast app, but neither of them worked.

Has anybody tried this with a Nokia 2760? Just wondering if ti is worth signing up for or a waste of time with this phone.
Thank you
No, It is a very basic phone. Screen is too small, function is very limited, and time consuming. It will take you very long time to do anything.
Touch Screen Smartphone is recommended.

Does 711 offer any phones that are good for use with the unlimited browsing as I am going to get a new phone with their current deal anyway? I am a newbie at this so any help is appreciated. Are there any good priced phones out there that would be better to buy?
