The only one that is really worth considering for on-phone browsing from speakout is the Jamma 5130.... If all else fails, this phone supports the bluetooth DUN profile, so you can share the internet from your phone to your laptop and browse on that. If you want to use the unlimited browsing on a phone though, you are best off bringing your own unlocked phone.
I have tethered my 4 year old mpx220 to my Nokia n800 (which is not a phone) and will generally never touch my old phone -- it just sits in my pocket.
I can browse on the n800's 800×480 touchscreen
Is this the same as teathering? Isn't that disabled from most data plans somehow? This would be great if I could do that on the $10 plan.
Also reading the Nokia Canada site... the 2760 also support the DUN profile.
Yes this is tethering - This is not disabled for this plan (I have not heard of it being physically disabled for any other plans - it is usually restricted in the terms of use though) - The catch is, everything still has to go through the http proxy... So, you need to set the proxy in your laptop's browser options. Basically - only browsing will work, no IM (except browser-based IM such as gtalk in gmail), no voip etc....
I never saw or agreed to any terms of use regarding the data plan, so I'd argue that I am allowed to do this if I am paying for the service.

It works but not smoothly. Slow and not all the time, it kind of need a retry if I go to browser after not using it for awhile.
I'm using WM 6.1 and IE do not work, had to download Opera 10 to get it working.
Google map works though map loading is slow. City road is OK, not at highway at 90kph.
Email not working:cry:
IM not working:cry:
Anybody have this issue as well on WM6.1?

I am using WM 6.5. IE works fine. Actually, I think IE is better than Opera 10.
Google map: goam.com has bandwidth abt 10kb/s. this is dial up speed. When you on highway, cellphone change com tower very often. Wouldn't surprise that happens.
Email: push mail works perfectly. You didn't setup properly. use active sync
IM: ya not working

Does anyone else have trouble accessing gmail via safari? I am using an iPhone 2G and after logging in via m.google.com, it just loops after I enter my email details in the gmail login page.
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone had any problems with the SO unlimited browsing using a smart phone in the last couple of days?
Was anyone told of restrictions on this add on when they subscribed to it, such as no smartphones or restricted to SO handsets?
Rogers appears to have started to block non Rogers branded dumb phones and most smartphones from using the $7 or $10 UNL browsing plan. I'm wandering if the SO service will be next.

No, I don't belive Rogers has blocked any phones on their pre-pay subscribers. Only IMEI blocking on post-pay contracts.

I confirm. Rogers is now blocking on non-rogers handsets from using $7 unlimited browsing plan on PayAsYouGo. The only option for PAYG subscribers using non-rogers handset is to pay by the day, i.e. $4.99 for all-day browsing.
The CSR confirmed, unlimited PAYG browsing will work on used Rogers iPhone or any used Rogers phone purchased on the 2nd hand market.

Do you mean that the SO CSR confirmed that you can use any phone including smart phones on SO UNL browsing?
I meant to say Rogers CSR confirmed, unlimited PAYG browsing will work on used Rogers iPhone or any used Rogers phone purchased on the 2nd hand market.

Has anyone actually figured out what causes the:
"Could not activate cellular data network: PDP authentication failure"
error message on the iPhone 3G? I got this message after getting SO to enable browsing on my account and of course they were not going to help me resolve the problem (Sorry sir, we only support the Nokia phones). Popping my SIM into the Nokia worked fine, but I'd sure like to know what needs to be done on the iPhone to make it work. (Rogers branded iPhone, software version 3.0, jailbroken and unlocked with ultrasnow (if I remember correctly), and created a SO profile using codewarriors information)
Any advice would be appreciated.
