Hi there,
I just noticed on SO's website that I need to buy their phone. Does this mean that I cannot use my unlocked phone?

Thanks so much for any tips!

You can use your unlocked phone (I have an unlocked t-mobile blackberry). However, you need to buy one of their phones to get a SpeakOut SIM card.

It would be really sensible for them to sell SIM cards separately, but I suspect their contract with Rogers doesn't allow it (since a lot of Rogers customers might simply migrate to SO).

Thank you very much for the info. I will look into getting a SIM card through the phone exchange perhaps.

I bought one of my sim cards through the phone exchange forum. It's a good deal, especially since you won't have to buy the whole package.
