Found this at another site, you can get an unlock code for your phone for $5, which is pretty good from what I'm told. Going by the discussions, its a limited time offer:

If your phone is unlockable by codes, most are free, and found by googling them. I wouldn't pay anyone for a code.

There's a long discussion on RFDs about this, and they're saying the free ones don't work. Don't you get a hard lock if you try too many times?

Yes, you can lock up your phone tight if you try to enter too many incorrect codes. Also, some newer phones are not unlockable by just entering a code.
