Hi guys!
Im on my second SO phone (lost my other one last week). I was just reading up on the site and someone said that they had put their SO sim into a Blackberry as well as into an iPhone. I was just wondering, since I read that in an older post, if anyone knows if this is still possible? Also, if I was to go and buy a blackberry, which one would work? (Please give all info re. this as I am REALLY terrible and dont know any technical jargon or anything haha)Also, would I be able to use the internet on the Blackberry/iPhone if I had wifi?
If it is still possible I will definitely look into getting a Blackberry! Thanks in advance!
EXTRAINFO: For example, would this phone work with my SO sim card?? http://cgi.ebay.com/Blackberry.....7C294%3A50

WiFi should work, however I would try it out on a friend's iPhone first since the iPhone has its own set of rules.
Also, I'm not sure if the Blackberry specific email would work via WiFi. Try a friend's BB if that's important to you.
I remember reading somewhere on this site that the iPhone's SMS system needs data access, so you'll probably have trouble sending an iPhone's SMS with a Speakout SIM.
Other than that, I think everything else should work fine.

i use SO and iPhone: SMS is fine, wifi is fine
use Skype to call landlines and cellphones with wifi (need to sign up for a plan though, $3/month or $30/year)
Google Calendar sends you free SMS reminders if you set it up.

I use SO with a Samsung Jack which is locked to Rogers.
If I click any of the browser or data functions with the SO SIM in place, I get a "Service Not Available" message and a blank browser screen which I can just dismiss. The same things will happen if an iPhone or a Blackberry have a SO Sim and there is no wi-fi available and/or if the phone is not connected to a wi-fi system or hotspot.
The SO is based in a Manitoba where I travel a few times per year for family reasons. I also have a Rogers SIM based in Victoria BC for normal use and data on the phone. I just trade SIM cards before I travel and the SO gives me a local number in Manitoba without having to carry the SO phone with me.
