I have a really old Fido phone and SIM kicking around, I'd say at least 8 years old. Anybody know if it would be possible to activate/transfer this sim on SO?

No, you cannot activate a Fido sim with Speak Out. They are separate businesses. After 8 years of it being inactive, the phone number attached to it will be dead as well.
