I have acquired SpeakOut phones for both myself and my wife, but we never seem to be able to connect to each other. A call made to either cellphone from either a landline or the other cellphone goes straight to voicemail. The receiving phone does not ring or register a missed call. Signal strength is not the issue, as calls from the cellphone to landlines are fine. If I do a test when we are both at home and the phones are side by side, the receiving phone rings and everything works as expected. Only being able to call her when we are both at home is not very useful! Can anyone give me any clue as to what is happening, and how to fix it?

Call Speakout and explain the problem to a CSR. It's probably a configuration issue if calls go straight to voicemail.

Thanks for the comments. The thing I don't understand is that it sometimes works, but the only reliable calls are cell to landline. Any call to the cell - from either landline or cell - will more likely than not go to voicemail, but do sometimes work. I am beginning to wonder if at least one of the phones isn't flakey, as it seems to be hers that is the most trouble. Anyway, I guess a call to a CSR is needed.

If the Rogers network offers decent coverage where you live, the most logical explanation is faulty hardware, since Speakout is simply piggy-backing their system. However, the fact that *both* phones are dodgy is a bit confusing. After using Speakout for several years, I can honestly say that it's been rock solid.
